Companies Looking To Fill 6,000 Positions At Job Fair

FT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) - More than 6,000 positions with more than 60 companies will be up for grabs at Job Fair Tuesday in Sunrise.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the BB&T Center at One Panther Parkway.

Sponsored by the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Seminole Coconut Creek Casino, The Check Cashing Store and FirstService Residential, organizers say there will be 3,000 hospitality or culinary jobs, more than 2,000 sales and customer service positions, 200 security positions and 100 IT positions.

Companies taking applications and hiring include event's sponsors along with Rick Case Automotive, H&R Block, Hiltons of Ft. Lauderdale, City Furniture, Florida Department of Health - Broward County and Kent Services which is looking for security personnel.

If you plan to come, here are a couple of things to consider.

• Update your Resume and bring at least 30 copies with you.
• Do your Research! Pick a few companies from the list below and learn more about them online. The more you know about the company, the more you can converse with them at the event.
• No children will be allowed into the event. This event will draw over 15,000 people and it is a safety issue.
• BB&T Center conducts a security check at the door. Ladies please leave the big purses at home. The less stuff that they have to check at the door, the quicker the lines will move and everyone can be inside in the AC.
