The National Association of Hispanic Nurses is committed to improve the health of all Americans, especially that of the Hispanic community. It promotes the recruitment and retention of Hispanic students in nursing education programs to increase the number of bilingual and bicultural nurses. The number of Hispanics in the U.S. is projected to reach 30 percent of the nation’s population by 2050. But according to the NAHN, only 4 percent of RNs nationwide are of Hispanic background.
