MIAMI (CBSMiami) — Celebrities were quite vocal on Twitter Friday after Sports Illustrated broke the news that LeBron James will be leaving the Miami Heat and returning to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Twitter, as expected, went nuts.

LeBron’s announcement is just another example of the incredible power of social media.

News of his Sports Illustrated essay spread like wildfire and reaction was just as fast.

It all began with King James himself.

LeBron broke his own news when he tweeted the letter he wrote to Sports Illustrated confirming he’s taking his talents back to Ohio.

In the letter, he wrote, “I always believed that I’d return to Cleveland and finish my career there.”

South Florida was crushed.

Cleveland celebrated.

And everyone reacted.

Celebrities like Snoop Dogg wrote, “Drinks on me. Congrats on Getn the king bac on his throne!!”

Diddy tweeted, “Congrats to @KingJames!!! It’s about adding to ur legacy and being a champion.”

There was even a tweet from a God, or least a Twitter account called @TheTweetofGod.
