DORAL (CBSMiami) – It’s not just about golf at the all new BLT Prime at the recently renovated Trump National Doral. The Modern American Steakhouse features dining inside and out with seating for 285.

At the helm is Chef de Cuisine, Dustin Ward.

“We’re sitting on top of blue green golf course, which our veranda overlooks. No matter where you are in the restaurant you see the golf course,” Chef Dustin said.

Sitting discretely at a table after just arriving from an early morning flight is Ivanka Trump who helped create the look of the space.

CBS4’s Lisa Petrillo, asked Chef what it’s like cooking for “The Donald” and Ivanka when they are in town.

“They’re very nice,” he said. “A lot of people fear them but they are very welcoming.”

Back in the kitchen, the chefs prepare the dishes for Petrillo’s tasting.

Chef Dustin creates a lobster roll with chunky pieces of Maine lobster with a special tangy mayo dressing.

Chef Richard is all about the beef, seasoning the main meat the restaurant is famous for.

Other dishes on the menu reflect Miami’s unique flavors.

“We have classic menu items like the lobster roll as well the Prime Steak but we do add a little Florida to the menu like a Chicken Paillard with chimichurri. Everything from local gardens is used here,” Chef said.

The tasting begins with the largest popovers Petrillo has ever seen.

“Now, that’s a popover,” Petrillo said while biting in. “That is delicious. Crispy on the sides and soft on the inside.”

Next Yellowfin Tuna with guacamole, topped with crispy shallots.

“That’s the perfect combo of texture and flavor. The crunch of the shallots and little bit of sweet from the tuna,” Petrillo said.

Then, a lobster roll with sweet Maine lobster.

“That Maine lobster meat is so sweet and that seasoning is so good! I feel like I’m in the NE somewhere,” Petrillo said.

And then finally, as Petrillo described, an enormous hunk of meat is served.

It’s 28-ounces of Porterhouse Steak

As big as it is, is as tender as it is,” Petrillo  said.
