Dog Falls 16 Stories Through Pipe

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – A dog had quite the adventure Friday night after falling 16 stories.

The Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue received the call of an animal rescue at 3400 Galt Ocean Drive.

A Maltipoo had apparently fallen through a pipe chase down the 16 stories and landed on a piece of concrete in the pipe chase on the second floor.

Fire crews cut holes into the second floor and got the dog named Susie to safety.

The dog and its owner went to the Oakland Park Animal Hospital.   Updates on the dog have not been given as of Friday night although the dog appeared to be alert in photos sent to CBS4 by Deputy Fire Chief Timothy C. Heiser with Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue.
