LeBron James Named To All-NBA First Team

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – LeBron James has been named to the 2013-14 All-NBA First Team, the league announced on Wednesday.  This marks the eighth time that James has been selected to the First Team, including the past seven consecutive seasons.  It also stands as James' fourth selection to the First Team as a member of the Miami Heat which is a franchise record.

A total of 125 sportswriters and broadcasters spanning the United States and Canada selected the All-NBA teams by casting votes for each position.  Players received five points for a First Team vote, three points for a Second Team vote and one point for a Third Team vote.  James received 124 First Team votes out of a possible 125, accumulating a total of 623 points.

James was voted as the NBA Player of the Month twice this season as well as a pair of NBA Player of the Week honors. He started all 77 games he appeared in, finishing the year averaging 27.1 points, 6.9 rebounds, 6.4 assists and 1.6 steals per game.  LeBron also improved his field goal percentage for the seventh straight season, hitting on 56.7 percent of his shots.

Additionally, James was also king of the Heat as far as statistics go.  He led the team in points (2,089), rebounds (533), assists (489), steals (121), field goals made (767) and free throws made (439).  LeBron also tied for the team lead in three-point field goals made (116) with Ray Allen.
