Focus on South Florida: Children With Disabilities

We introduce you to Rixys Alfonso, a South Florida woman who just might motivate you to heights you never imagined. Her passion and commitment emerged from a very personal struggle and family crisis that centered around her eldest son Devin. He was born with a rare genetic disorder, and at two years age was given a terminal diagnosis. But Devin is still alive (now 17) today, thanks largely to his mother's efforts from here to Capitol Hill where legislators passed bills that to this day are saving children's lives.
