Police Search For Man Accused Of Exposing Himself To Young Girl

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Police are searching for a man accused of exposing himself to a young girl in a Kendall mall.

Miami-Dade Police Officers released a sketch of the man on Wednesday.

Detectives said the 8-year-old girl was shopping with her mother at the Dollar Tree store in the TJMaxx Plaza when she came across a man in the shopping isle whose private parts were exposed.

When the child turned to walk away, police said the man touched her from behind with his exposed private part.

The girl told her mom the molester took off.

Police said they are investigating the sexual assault and looking for the assailant.

The suspect is described as between 40 and 50 years of age, approximately 5-foot 3-inches and a thin build.

Police said he is balding, with salt and pepper hair with brown eyes. He was last seen wearing gray gym shorts.

Social media has lit up the community with the suspect's sketch .

The molestation happened just a few doors down from a preschool as well as a dance studio for youngsters.

Parents were escorting their kids to class Thursday, May 29th.

"I mean she knows just to always stay close to me but there is certain things you can't prevent. There are people that are out in this world to do malicious things," said Maritza Moreno, a parent.

Police worry the exhibitionist molester may graduate to something more egregious.

"Our concern, of course, is what may happen next. If he's doing this in a store in the middle of the day, what's the next step," said Det. Robin Pinkard of Miami-Dade Police.

Anyone with information concerning the subject is requested to contact the Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS (305-471-8477).
