Three People & Dog Rescued After Boat Capsizes

MIAMI (CBSMiami) — The Coast Guard crews rescued three people and their dog after their boat capsized.

According to the Coast Guard, the dingy capsized  near Sunset Key, Florida on Saturday, May 17th. The three people were not wearing life jackets.

The crew from the station in Key West arrived within five minutes.

No one was injured in the incident.

Saturday marks the beginning of National Safe Boating Week throughout the nation.

The Coast Guard asks boaters to have proper safety equipment and wear life jackets at all times, adding that it  greatly increases your chance of survival in a distress situation.
