MIAMI (CBSMiami) – There’s a wide variety of choices on our weather menu through the weekend.

Ahead of a cool front heading our way, we have a good chance for showers and even a few thunderstorms on Thursday. The biggest concern with these storms is heavy rain which could flood some low lying areas. There’s also a risk of lightning and at the beaches – moderate risk of rip currents.

When front moves through on Friday from the west it will wipe out the rain and storms. The cool front is forecast to make a clean sweep through South Florida sometime Friday afternoon.

Sunshine and drier air moves in late Friday lasting through the weekend.

Both Saturday and Sunday forecasts call for pleasant sunshine, with highs in the lower 80s and overnight temperatures cooling down into the upper 60s and lower 70s.
