Three Teens Shot In NW Miami-Dade

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Three teenagers were shot while riding their bikes in Northwest Miami-Dade Friday night.

It happened just after 8 p.m. Police say four young men between the ages of 14 and 16 were riding their bikes along NW 41st Street near 22nd Court when they noticed a car behind them driving slowly. They say one of the windows rolled down and someone fired a handgun from the car window. Three of the four teenagers were shot. All were stable when transported to the hospital.

Miami-Dade Police Detective Roy Rutland said the car was a tan or champagne colored sedan, possibly a Lexus.

"One thing is clear: we have a Lexus, or a vehicle like it that's out there, and we know the men or women that are in it are dangerous. We know they are armed because they've already proven that here tonight," said Rutland.

Police said bullets also went into a nearby home. "We have casings all over the floor that are being processed now," Rutland explained.

If you have any information about this crime, call Crimestoppers at (305) 471-TIPS.
