Police Investigating Apparent Drowning Of 3-Year-Old In Coral Springs

CORAL SPRINGS (CBSMiami) - Police are investigating an apparent drowning of a three-year-old boy at a home in Coral Springs.

A small memorial sits outside a home in Coral Springs where police say a boy drowned in the pool of his home.

Police were called out around 6:35 PM Wednesday. When they arrived they found the three-year-old boy unresponsive, the father, police said, had already pulled the boy out and was performing CPR.

Investigators said the mother said she was only away from the child about five minutes, neighbors say she was watering the lawn.

It is believed the child went through the open sliding glass doors.

"Terrible, heartbreaking. Cause they're such nice people," said a neighbor.

The incident is still under investigation to rule out anything suspicious.
