HIALEAH (CBSMiami) — A City of Hialeah Public Works employee was arrested Thursday, accused of stealing gasoline from the city’s fleet vehicle fuel pump.

Donte Beauford, 29, was charged with a misdemeanor theft.

According to Hialeah Police, a Public Works supervisors allegedly spotted Beauford Thursday morning, filling three fuel containers located on the bed of his assigned utility vehicle.

The amount of gas he allegedly took equals about five gallons.

Detectives said Beauford allegedly admitted the fuel was for his personal use.

Beauford  has been with the city for 10 years. He is currently on a non-work employment status, pending termination.
