Alleged Serial Vehicle Burglar Busted

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Broward Sheriff's Deputies arrested an alleged serial vehicle burglar on Thursday.

Darrius Toliver, 26, was arrested on charges of  unarmed burglary of an unoccupied conveyance, grand theft, false ownership information for pawned items, dealing in stolen property, and unarmed burglary of an occupied conveyance.

Detectives said a recent car burglary led Wilton Manors detectives to suspect Toliver.

Surveillance was conducted on Toliver in various jurisdictions within the county, according to deputies.

Toliver was placed under arrest after, deputies say, he was committing a vehicle burglary where he stole a leaf blower valued at $1,000.

Detectives said Toliver admitted to committing numerous burglaries in various jurisdictions and pawning the stolen property at local pawn shops.
