City Of Hialeah Employee Accused Of Unlawful Sexual Activity With Minor

HIALEAH (CBSMiami) - A Hialeah park director is facing charges for allegedly engaging in sexual activity with a minor.

Erik Edward Blanco, director of Bucky Dent Park is being charged with eight counts of Unlawful Sexual Activity with certain minors for his alleged relationship with a 17-year-old park goer.

Thirty-eight year old Blanco, according the arrest affidavit, met the victim, a now 18-year-old female, at the park in July of 2013.

On April 7th, the victim disclosed that Blanco would communicate with her via text.

In November and December of 2013, according to the arrest report, the Blanco and the girl engaged in sexual acts in the break room of the park at least once a week over a two months time span.

According to the arrest report, the girl said that her and Blanco would engage in sexual activity after-hours--between 9:15 PM and 9:30 PM. She also said that, on occasion, the two would get together during park hours.

The information, according to the Hialeah Police Department, was first given by the girl's family on April 7th.

Blanco was transported to the Hialeah Police Department Wednesday and is currently on non-work status pending termination of his employment.
