BSO Seeks Hit & Run Driver Who Struck Pedestrian In Weston

(WESTON) -- The Broward Sheriff's Office is looking for the driver of a car involved in a hit and run accident in Weston Sunday.

BSO said a male pedestrian was struck just after 8:00 p.m. Sunday night in the northbound lanes of US27, just north of Griffin Road.

According to investigators, the driver involved fled the scene.

People who heard the accident said they ran outside to find the victim lying in the road.

"All I heard was a big bang," said Bo, who works at Cafe 27, a bar next to where the accident happened. "[I saw] a body, a body in the street."

The man was airlifted to Broward Health Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

US27 at Griffin Road was shut down for several hours but has since reopened.

Investigators are still working to get a description of the car involved and figure out what caused the accident.

Anyone with information should call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
