Dolphins Sign RB Knowshon Moreno
MIAMI (CBSMiami) - The Miami Dolphins signed a former first-round pick to help the team's anemic running game.
Thursday, the Fins signed former Denver Broncos running back Knowshon Moreno to a one-year contract. Moreno is coming off his best season in Denver after being labeled a bust in his first few seasons.
Last season, Moreno ran the ball 241 times for 1,038 yards and 10 touchdowns. Moreno is also a threat out of the backfield on passing downs. He caught 60 passes for 548 yards and three touchdowns last season.
Moreno, a former first-round pick out of Georgia, had a breakout game last season in a Week 12 loss to the New England Patriots. He ran the ball 37 times for 224 yards and a touchdown that week.
Combining Moreno with Lamar Miller's speed should give the Dolphins a potent 1-2 attack out of the backfield.
