Deadly Train Accident In Pompano Beach

POMPANO BEACH (CBSMiami) – The conductor of a southbound train on the Florida East Coast rail lines was unable to stop in time and struck a person on the tracks.

The freight train, which carried only the conductor and an engineer, struck the person near in the 1100 block of South Dixie Highway in Pompano Beach.

Broward Sheriff’s investigators said the person was lying across the tracks when the train ran them over.

Police have not released the name of the person who died.
