Police: Ex-Husband Shoots Mother In Front Of 5-Year-Old Son
MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Miami-Dade police are investigating the shooting of a mother that police say happened right in front of her five-year-old son.
Police have arrested a man in connection with of a domestic-related shooting that occurred Monday around 8 PM at 270 N.W. 99th Street.
The man who police say was the victim's ex-husband, according to investigators, was armed when he forced his way into the home and immediately shot the woman in her stomach.
Police said the woman was shot in front of her 5-year-old son. He, however, was not injured.
The man then exited the house and shot the victim's boyfriend in his upper chest before fleeing on foot.
Both victims were transported to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital in serious/stable condition.
