SUNRISE (CBSMiami) – It looks like the Florida Panthers could be in need of another top man with the franchise. According to Sports Business Daily, Panthers CEO Michael Yormark will be leaving the franchise to join up with hip-hop mogul Jay-Z.

Yormark, according to Sports Business Daily, Yormark will run the business side of Jay-Z’s new agency, Roc Nation. Jay-Z’s company has already attracted some big name sports stars including Geno Smith, Hakeem Nicks, Robinson Cano, and Kevin Durant.

Yormark leaves the Panthers just as the ownership may be planning to start spending more money on the roster. According to multiple reports, new owner Vincent Viola has the money to spend and is willing to let general manager Dale Tallon spend to the NHL’s salary cap.

According to CBS4 news partner the Miami Herald, Yormark will be replaced by Rory Babich. Tallon will also keep his job as general manager under the new team president.
