Miami Children’s Museum Celebrating Dr. Seuss’ Birthday

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A mischievous Cat in a hat, along with his two cohorts in fun – Thing One & Thing Two – will be on hand Monday at the Miami Children’s Museum to help celebrate the birthday of their creator Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss.
Geisel, who was born March 2nd, 1904 published 46 children’s books filled with colorful characters, their stories spelled out in rhyme and anapestic meter. Some of his most celebrated books include The Cat in the Hat, Green Eggs and Ham, The Lorax, Horton Hears a Who! and the seasonal favorite – How the Grinch Stole Christmas!.
The celebration at the museum, at 980 MacArthur Causeway, will honor Geisel’s wonderful contributions to encouraging literacy for children everywhere.
During the celebration the museum will be open for free to the public until 6 p.m.
The Grinch, Things One & Two, The Cat in the Hat and Dr. Seuss himself will entertain guests, along with celebrity story readers. Museum officials sayiIt will be Seussical fun for young and old with themed games, art projects, screenings of Seuss videos and live performances.
