South Florida Crime

FORT MYERS (CBSMiami/AP) — Lee County Sheriff’s Deputies shot a man at a Fort Myers gas station after, deputies say, he rammed their squad cars.

Authorities say the man was at a gas pump early Sunday when deputies tried to talk to him about a possible stolen vehicle.

They say the man rammed his vehicle into two squad cars and attempted to run over deputies.

After he was shot, the driver crashed his car into a parked truck and tried to run away on foot before he was caught and arrested.

The man sustained non-life threatening injuries and no sheriff’s deputies were injured.
