Woman Accused Of Throwing Boiling Water On 14-Year Old

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- A woman in Stock Island was arrested after allegedly throwing boiling water on a 14-year old girl on Wednesday.

Monroe County Sheriff's Office arrested  Nadeige Pluviose, 32, on charges of aggravated child abuse.

Detectives said no one seems to know why Pluviose threw  boiling water on the girl at around 6: 00 a.m.

Pluviose refused to make a statement about the alleged incident.

The girl suffered second and third degree burns on her face, neck and shoulder.

A witness told a detective, he heard the victim screaming and saw Pluviose running from the room, carrying a plastic cup from where the victim had been sleeping.  He said he checked the kitchen and found the stove still hot.

The girl was treated with home remedies until someone reported the incident to the Child Abuse Hotline.

Detectives responded to the call at 1:00 p.m. The girl was then taken for professional treatment at Lower Keys Hospital.

Florida Law requires any person who suspects that a child has been abused to report it to the Florida Abuse Hotline.

No bond has been set for Pluviose.
