Report: FSU & UF Extend Football Series Through 2018

GAINESVILLE (CBSMiami) – Florida State Seminoles and Florida Gators fans can rest easy, the heated football rivalry between the schools will be around for at least a few more years.

According to collegefootballtalk.com, the Gators and Seminoles extended their football series through the 2018 season. The 2015 and 2017 games will be played in Gainesville while the 2016 and 2018 games will be in Tallahassee.

Prior to the extension being formalized, the series contract between the two schools was set to expire after the upcoming season.

The Gators and Noles have played each other 58 times over the years. Many times, the winner of the game was propelled into national championship contention thanks to the key late season victory.

Overall, UF has a 34-22-2 edge in the all-time series against the Noles.
