No Swimming Advisory Issued For Sunny Isles Beach

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A no swimming advisory for the waters off Sunny Isles Beach has been posted by the state's health department.

Samples taken from the beach water showed higher than acceptable levels of enterococci.

Enteric bacteria, enterococci, is normally found in animal and human intestinal tracks. Higher concentrations in the water indicate fecal pollution which may cause infections and illness.

Additional beach water samples at Sunny Isles Beach have been collected and further results are pending.

The Miami-Dade County Permitting, Environment and Regulatory Affairs Department will be conducting tests to determine when it is safe to swim in the water.
