MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Miami Heat center Chris ‘Birdman’ Andersen was known last season for his hustle, physical play, and of course a signature Mohawk. But just before Tuesday’s game against the Dallas Mavericks, Birdman came out with a ‘nohawk.’

Andersen surprised many by sporting a short haircut without the signature Mohawk telling reporters it was simply “less maintenance.”

Birdman still has plenty to capture the attention in the form of multiple tattoos all over his body up to and including his neck, a point Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra jokingly referred to during an interview when asked about Andersen, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

Andersen had the Mohawk from 2001’s playoffs until Tuesday night.
