NEW ORLEANS (CBSMiami) – Miami Heat superstar Dwyane Wade missed Wednesday night’s game against the Golden State Warriors due to a sore foot and that injury might keep him out of the 2014 All-Star Game on Sunday night.

Wade said he had numbness in his left leg in warm-ups and that he was diagnosed with foot drop, which causes an inability to lift the front part of the foot, according to Yahoo! Sports.

“It’s one of the most bizarre things…Hopefully, the numbness wears off more and more as it started to do throughout the game and throughout the rest of the night,” Wade said. “First, I want this to calm down a little bit and get back to feeling regular and I will go from there…I’m not optimistic, I’m not pessimistic. I just wanna get better.”

Wade was voted a starter for the Eastern Conference All-Stars and if he can’t go, a substitute would be selected by the league office. One player who could replace Wade is Indiana Pacer Lance Stephenson, who has had a great first-half of the season.

Wade’s absence Wednesday night was his 15th missed game of the season. Much of the time out for Wade has been to rest his knees, but at 32-years-old, it’s beginning to look like Wade’s best basketball may be behind him.

If Wade can’t get his health straight, it brings Miami Heat star LeBron James’ pending free agency into question. With Wade healthy, the duo is one of the most lethal in the league. Without Wade, LeBron has had to carry much of the load to get the Heat where they are at the All-Star Break.

Could Wade’s health play a role in LeBron’s decision on whether to stay or go? A third straight NBA championship would go a long way to not having to worry about that this July.
