Cell Phone Video Shows Delray Beach Attack

DELRAY BEACH (CBSMiami) – Cell phone video now shows what happened as a man who police said was on a rampage and bit two people before being shot and killed by sheriff's deputies in Delray Beach.

The case is very similar to the Miami cannibal case from two years ago.

In this case, Delray Beach Police said they were forced to fire on a man who was naked, attacking people, and even biting them in the face.

The cell phone video shows the chaotic scene on Military Trail north of Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach.

Police said Anesson Joseph, 28, of West Palm Beach was naked in what appeared to be a drug induced delirious state while attacking and biting several people including two children for unknown reasons.

"He was grunting like an animal almost," said one of the victims.

Tony Grein, 18, said he was bitten by Joseph in the face and ear.

"Then he started to bite me and I had a box cutter so I started stabbing him."

The case is much like the May 2012 attack on a homeless man, Ronald Poppo, by a naked Rudy Eugene, suspected of being under the influence of bath salts.

When Palm Beach County deputies showed up Tuesday night, Joseph allegedly charged at them and the deputies opened fire.

"I know I got a good one never been bad," said Joseph's father.

Joseph's father said his son didn't do drugs.

"That's my first son and I lost him if I know he was bad but he never be in trouble."

But Tony Grein's dad described a different man.

"I punched him and distracted him but he was much tougher than me."

Grein said Joseph was trying to rape his daughter and appeared crazed and delirious.

"My son is a hero, he saved my daughter's life."

"You're brave. It's not bravery you would do the same thing, it's just love," said Grein.
