MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A deadly motorcycle accident shut down SW 8th Street for several hours Sunday morning.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 56-year old Susan Greenberg was driving westbound on SW 8th Street headed toward Gator Park in a pickup truck. Juan Casas, 61, and passenger Zoraida Olilver, 59, were in the car behind her.

Coming in the opposite direction was 41-year old Cristobal Fuentes on a motorcycle.

When Greenberg went to turn into Gator Park, Fuentes was forced to swerve to the left to avoid getting hit. The FHP said when he swerved, Fuentes lost control of his motorcyle which hit Greenberg’s truck. On impact, Fuentes was thrown from his bike and Casas, unable to stop in time, ran him over.

Fuentes was transported to Kendall Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
