Alleged Head Stomper Captured In Surveillance Video

POMPANO BEACH (CBSMiami) -- Broward Sheriff's deputies have released surveillance video of man they are looking for, accused of stomping repeatedly on a woman's head Wednesday morning during a robbery at a Pompano Beach laundromat.

Deputies said they are looking for a black male, about 6'2" tall, who was wearing a black T-shirt, blue jeans and red sneakers.

Surveillance video of a nearby Hess gas station shows someone matching the description at the gas station a few minutes after the crime. The man on the video, who wore all black, asked the clerk for the restroom key and talked on a cell phone while he waited for it. Then someone in a small, green SUV picked him up.

On Wednesday,a witness walked into Sunnyside Coin Laundry at around 8:45 a.m. to find Thanh Lam, 44, of Coral Springs lying in a pool of blood. The alleged attack left her unconscious on the floor of the coin laundry she owns with her husband.

The witness then encountered the subject coming out of a back closet area. According to deputies, the tall, slim criminal told the customer he had a gun and said not to come near him. He jumped over Lam's body and ran out the back door.

According to the witness, the man ran by the witness and said," I hope she is okay." The man ran away with what appeared to be a black box.

Deputies said, it's unclear what, if anything, he stole.

Lam is recovering at Broward Health North, though her injuries are severe.

Anyone with information is urged to call Broward Crimestoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
