A number of fights broke out during the party, according to North Miami Beach Police.

The first fight broke out over food and a lack of proper utensils. Police say that lead to an argument between one of the party guests and a kitchen helper.

That's when members of the Joseph family decided to end the party. Then a second fight started, according to police, which Alexis tried to stop.

Detectives of the North Miami Beach Police Department, with the assistance of the public, were able to identify and arrest Avril on Friday.

Avril, of North Miami, is being charged with first degree premeditated murder with a firearm, first attempted degree premeditated murder with a firearm and a reckless displace of a firearm.

The North Miami Beach Police Department is still asking the public to come forward if they have any information regarding this Homicide. Any information please contact Miami Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS or Detective C. Mann at (305)949-5500.
