Lane Closures Overnight On MacArthur Causeway
MIAMI BEACH (CBSMiami) – If your travels take you to Miami Beach late Thursday into Friday, there is a traffic advisory you need to be aware of.
At 10 p.m., one eastbound lane of I-395/MacArthur Causeway Bridge will close to traffic. On Friday, at 1 a.m., all lanes of the causeway will close so workers can install new sign structures and panels. The causeway is scheduled to re-open at 5 a.m.
Drivers trying to get to Miami Beach during the closure will have to exit at the Biscayne Boulevard ramp, head north to I-195/Julia Tuttle Causeway and then head east.
Scheduled to open to traffic on May 2014, the $1.2 billion Port of Miami Tunnel will provide a direct access between the Seaport, I-395 and I-95 by creating another access to PortMiami besides the Port Bridge, which is currently the only connection to the mainland.
