Reports: Louisville To Hire Petrino As Head Coach

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (CBSMiami) – Charlie Strong was considered a coach of integrity and class while at the University of Louisville. Apparently the Cardinals have decided to go to the opposite end of the spectrum for its next coach.

According to Yahoo! Sports' Pat Forde, the Cardinals are prepared to hire former coach Bobby Petrino as the team's new head coach. Petrino spent last season coaching at Western Kentucky University after an embarrassing incident at his previous job with the University of Arkansas.

Petrino was on a motorcycle while coaching at Arkansas when he had an accident. The woman also on the bike was discovered to be having an affair with Petrino and had been given a job in the athletic department allegedly because of the affair.

Petrino also famously quit on the Atlanta Falcons a few games into the season in 2007. Petrino didn't stay long enough to face his players, instead leaving them a note saying he was leaving to take the head coaching job at Arkansas.

The one thing Petrino has been able to do on a consistent basis at nearly every school is win games. He coached Louisville to a 41-9 record, was 34-17 at Arkansas, and was 8-4 last season at Western Kentucky University.

Still, the question Louisville will have to answer: is winning really worth that much?
