Burglars Target Travelers In Dania Beach
DANIA BEACH (CBSMiami) – Serial burglars have struck five times at the same Dania Beach restaurant. Now, detectives have surveillance video of the alleged thieves.
The Broward Sheriff's Office reports the serial burglars are targeting travelers and taking their luggage and valuables from parked cars.
It has happened five times in the last two months at Rustic Inn restaurant parking lot.
The incident caught on surveillance cameras happened December 9, 2013. The burglars broke into Zhongyi Luo's rental car and stole her computer and all of her luggage a few hours before her flight back home.
The burglars could be seen in an older model, light-colored, four-door sedan.
They parked their car next to the victim's Dodge Grand Caravan. A man is seen using a shirt as a glove to avoid leaving prints on the door handle.
The thieves stole three backpacks, a camera, a laptop computer, clothing, and approximately $600 cash.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Broward County Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS.
Crime Stoppers will pay up to $3,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
