BSO Looking For Transgendered Thief That Targeted Cabbie

OAKLAND PARK (CBSMiami) – A seemingly normal taxi ride took a violent turn in Oakland Park when Broward Sheriff's Office detectives said a transgendered person robbed the driver at knifepoint.

According to BSO, the driver, 42-year-old Bonanfant Aurelien, picked up the person a little after 7 a.m. on December 21 at the Oakland Park Flea Market. BSO said things turned dangerous almost immediately.

BSO investigators said the transgendered person pulled a knife and said, "I need money. If you don't give me money, I'm going to start cutting things."

Aurelien ran from the car as the person attempted to stab him. The transgendered robber then allegedly stabbed the cab's seats, surveillance camera, and credit card machine. The robber then grabbed the driver's backpack and ran from the scene.

The entire incident was captured on the taxi's surveillance camera. BSO described the robber as transgendered female, roughly 25-35 years old, 5'11" to 6' tall who wore a black lace top and white shorts.

If you have any information on this crime, call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477). Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $3,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest in this case.
