MIAMI (CBSMiami) – When a music artist launches a new music album, there’s usually a huge marketing campaign that goes along with it, but Beyoncé has thrown out the rules.
At midnight, she surprised fans when she released what she calls a visual album because it features a video for each song.
On the self-titled album, she collaborates with her husband Jay-Z and features her baby, Blue Ivy on the last track.
It’s the fifth solo studio album for Beyoncé and she released it exclusively on iTunes.
Beyoncé said the release on iTunes allows her to deliver music and visual content directly to her fans when she wants to and how she wants to with no filter.
It’s also the artist’s first visual album, meaning the 14 songs on it are accompanied by 17 videos the singer shot at locations around the world.
