BSO Investigating Body Found In Deadly House Fire

LAUDERDALE LAKES (CBSMiami) --The Broward Sheriff's Office continued to  investigate a deadly house fire in Lauderdale Lakes Saturday.

Firefighters responded to the home at 5061 NW 41 Street just after 8:30 Friday night.

Smoke was billowing from the windows when rescue crews first arrived, according the BSO Spokesperson Dani Moschella.

First responders made entry through an open side door, Moschella said.

That's when they found a body inside.

Junior,  a family friend said he knows the victim "He's a good kid. I haven't seen him in any activities that would cost him his life.

Broward Sheriff's homicide was on the scene to determine if the person found dead inside was killed before or because of the fire.   Junior doesn't believe there was anything accidental about the blaze or the body.

"I don't think so. Compared to what I've been hearing because I heard they hit through the  back windows out so somebody tried to get in so it shouldn't be an accident I don't think so," said Junior.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.

The gender and identity of the person found dead inside the home have not been released.
