Republican Files To Run For South Florida House Seat

MIAMI (CBSMiami/NSF) - The race for the District 100 seat just got a little more crowded.

Rep. Joe Gibbons, D-Hallandale Beach, currently holds it but he'll be out next year due to term limits.

Surfside Republican Martin Alan Feigenbaum filed papers Monday to run for the seat.  So far he'll be facing four Democrats and one Libertarian.

Aventura Democrat Joseph Geller has raised the most money among the candidates, collecting $64,604 as of Oct. 31 and loaning his campaign $25,000, according to the state Division of Elections website.

District 100 includes parts of Broward and Miami-Dade counties.
