Man Arrested After Crash Kills Elderly Woman

MARCO ISLAND (CBSMiami) -- A man is behind bars, after being involved in a car crash which killed a  91-year old woman in Marco Island on Saturday.

According to Naples News, Marco Island police arrested Peter Ferreira, 42, on charges of vehicular homicide and reckless driving.

The wreck, which involved  two Nissan Sedans, killed Theresa Lesniak, 91,  and left her passenger, who has not been named, in the hospital.

Police told the Naples News , speed and failure to stop at the stop light factored into the crash.

His bond is set at $80,000, according to Naples News.
