What's Open/Closed On Thanksgiving

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – South Florida has come to a virtual standstill Thursday as America pauses for a day to give thanks.

Federal, state, county and municipal offices will be closed both Thursday and Friday as will public schools, colleges and universities.

All Miami-Dade and Broward Courts will be closed Thursday and Friday.

On Thursday, there will be no mail delivery and stock markets will be closed as will banks.

While waste drop off centers in Miami-Dade and Broward will be closed, garbage pick up will be on its regular schedule.

In Broward, garbage pickup will follow its regular schedule except in Cooper City, Southwest Ranches and unincorporated Broward County where there will be no garbage collection.

Libraries in both Miami-Dade and Broward will be closed on Thursday but Broward County's regional and neighborhood parks, nature centers and natural areas will be open. Deerfield Island Park and the target range at Markham Park are closed.

Tri-Rail and Broward County transit will operate holiday schedules. Metrobus, Metrorail and Metromover will operate on a Sunday schedule on Thursday.

Publix grocery stores will be closed. Winn-Dixie and Albertsons stores will be open until 4 p.m.
