Owner Of Lost Special Needs Dog To Be Reunited With Pet

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A special needs dog which was found wandering the streets of South Florida is going to be reunited with its owner Wednesday.

According to the Miami-Dade Animal Services Department, the owner of the dog has been found and will pick up the dog named "Puppy."

The search for the owner began Tuesday when the partially paralyzed Schnauzer mix dog was found by a Good Samaritan in the northwest area of Miami-Dade.

The male dog is paralyzed in the hind legs and is assisted by the use of a wheelchair-like device.

When he was first found, animal services workers called him "Huggies" because he wears diapers. He was checked out and said to be in fair condition.
