Sunrise Police Department Putting Out Alert On New Drugs

SUNRISE (CBSMiami) - The Sunrise Police Department is putting out an alert about two new drugs they've uncovered.

Acting on a tip, authorities went to a smoke shop at 2692 University Drive and said they discovered two new forms of marijuana.  The first was a vial of liquid syntehtic cannabis also known as spice.  The vials had labels which said 'incense.'  But police say it was not incense, instead they were packs of powerful narcotic effect.  The other substance is a concentrated form of cannabis known as "weed wax."

Police say both drugs are used with electronic cigarettes and there is concern that users can walk around publicly smoking the illegal drug.

"We're told it has a high potency. We can't say what on a scale of one to ten because it's our first time seeing it," said Sunrise Police Officer Michelle Eddy.

It is not a cheap high.

Weed wax costs one hundred dollars per gram.  The vials cost betwseen 15 and 20 dollars.

Police arrested a clerk at the store, Johann Ospina.

No one at the store was available for comment.
