President Of Florida Tea Party Group Killed In Crash

OCALA (CBSMiami/AP) — The president of a Florida tea party group died in a car accident in Marion County.

Stephen Hunter, 70, headed the Ocala Tea Party or Tea Party Solutions for the last several years.

Friends say Hunter was a Vietnam veteran who later worked at defense contractor Lockheed Martin.

Hunter was attempting to make a left turn on U.S. 441 on Friday and apparently did not see an oncoming pickup truck, which struck Hunter's car on the driver's side, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Hunter was pronounced dead at the scene.

The two occupants of the truck were uninjured. They were wearing their seat belts, troopers said.
