More Lane Closures This Week On SR 826
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Lane closures on the Palmetto Expressway (SR 826) are set for this week.
The North and Southbound lanes will be closed for construction from Northwest 25th Street to 36th Street.
The SR 826 will be closed northbound and southbound from Northwest 25th Street to 36th Street from 11 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. through Tuesday. On Thursday the lanes will be closed from 12:30 a.m. to 5:30 a.m.
All Westbound and Eastbound travel lanes from Northwest 25 Street to Northwest 75 Avenue will also be closed. From Sunday to Tuesday, they will be closed from 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. and on Wednesday they will be closed at 10 p.m. until 5:30 a.m.
Drivers on southbound SR 826 will be diverted to exit at NW 36 Street while drivers on the Northbound lanes will be diverted to the NW 25 Street exit ramp.
The closures, according to the Florida Department of Transportation, are necessary to allow the contractor to erect support beams over the entire SR 826 at NW 25 Street.
The project was put in place to create a new ramp for cargo trucks to use in hopes of alleviating the always-gridlocked Northwest 25th Street.
