Body Crashes Through Glass Ceiling Of Hollywood Resort

FT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – An investigation is underway after a body came crashing through a glass ceiling of a popular Hollywood resort.

Hollywood Fire Rescue spokesman Joel Medina said an adult male fell through the glass ceiling into the lobby of the Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa around 12:30 a.m. Sunday. The man died on the scene.

Saturday evening the resort hosted the 10th Annual Fairy Tale Ball "The Wizard of Oz," a popular fundraising event hosted by the Diamond Angels of Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital Foundation.

Medina said police investigators were trying to determine if the man accidentally fell or if this was a suicide.
