Sister Of Man Accused In School Nurse Murder May Face Legal Charges

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - The investigation into the disappearance of a Palm Beach school nurse which took investigators to Clewiston where they found her body ended Sunday in a Miami neighborhood with the death of the prime suspect - her ex-husband.

The Palm Beach Sheriff's Office said Dr. Albert Lambert died in of a narcotics overdose in the home of his sister and her boyfriend.

The sister-in-law of Lambert told CBS4's Peter D'Oench, "This is very difficult. We have lost two family members."

She declined to say anything more from her home in North Miami Beach, saying the Lambert family would be sending out a statement to the media.

Neighbors in the Coral Gate neighborhood were stunned to learn that the man who investigators believe murdered Kimberly Lindsey, and dumped her decapitated body in a sugarcane field in Clewiston, was inside the home a few doors down.

"I never would have thought of that," said Chris Campbell.  "This has always been a quiet neighborhood and thinking it's coming from this neighborhood, that kind of thing, it's scary, really scary."

Sheriff's investigators said blood evidence linked Lambert to his ex-wife's murder.  They tracked him to his sisters home where he died.   Now the couple may be in legal trouble for removing Lambert's body instead of notifying police of his death. Investigators say they saw it themselves.

"They were down there on the surveillance waiting for us to get down there with the arrest warrant and they saw a male and female come out of the residence struggling to carry a body, wrapped up in a sheet," said Bradshaw.

A spokeswoman for the Palm Beach County Sheriffs Office said it would be up the Miami Police Department to determine if charges would be filed against Lambert's sister and her boyfriend. A Miami Police

spokesman said he did not know if charges would be filed or not.

Lambert's sister did not speak to the media, and neither did the man who arrived at the home, packed up some belongings and left early Monday morning.  Neighbors say Lambert's sister is a nurse and that she and her boyfriend are kind people adding that this was out of character for them.

Investigators said the couple had gone through a contentious divorce earlier this year and Lambert had publicly shown anger over alimony and child support.

Lindsey's body was found Wednesday in a Hendry County sugar cane field.  Investigators said it appears Liindsey was attacked and killed Oct. 27 inside her home in Palm Beach Country Estates.

The couple's three children Sarah Lambert, 20, Sofia Lambert, 18, and Savannah Lambert, 16, lost both of their parents in one week.

Lindsey was the school nurse at Bak Middle School of the Arts. School officials said they would rename the clinic at the West Palm Beach school in her memory.  They also had grief counselors on hand Monday at the school Monday for students and staff to "help both children and adults cope with this senseless act of violence and loss of life," said principal Sally Rozanski.
