Halloween Celebration, From South Miami To South Beach

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Thousands of young witches, ghouls and goblins, and monsters of all shapes and sizes are expected to descend on Sunset Drive in South Miami Halloween night for the city's annual Safe Streets Halloween event.

The family-friendly Safe Streets event allows the young, and young-at-heart to "trick or treat" at downtown businesses from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.

Sunset Drive from US 1 to Red Road, will be closed to vehicular traffic.

The event is sponsored by the City of South Miami and the Red Sunset Merchants Association of South Miami and features a haunted house, pumpkin painting, music, and a graveyard crawl.

Parents are encouraged to dress-up along with their children and enjoy free candy and other activities.

Later in the evening, on Lincoln Road, thousands pranced around in costumes that ranged from scary, to sexy, to straight-out outlandish.

"It's wonderful, nice big crowd, what's nice about it is you see families with children and you see people with the crazy costumes, and everybody…it's fun for everybody," said Laura Morilla.

Pets dressed in costumes also dressed up for the occasion to walk around Lincoln Road.
