Wednesday Is Deadline For Absentee Ballot Request

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Voters hoping to request an absentee ballot for the upcoming Miami-Dade County special election have just a few hours to contact the Miami-Dade Elections Department.

The deadline to request an absentee ballot is 5 p.m. Wednesday. All absentee ballots must be returned by mail or in person to one of the following two places by November 5th at 7 p.m.

The special election asks voters to decide on bonds to fund modernization and improvement of the Jackson Health System along with voters in the cities of Hialeah, Homestead, Miami, and Miami Beach deciding municipal races and questions.

So far, more than 55,000 absentee ballots have been requested and nearly 8,000 early voters have already cast their ballots.
