All Clear Given After UM Library Evacuated Over Bomb Threat

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A bomb threat forced the evacuation of the library on the Coral Gables campus of the University of Miami.

Just after 10:30 a.m., the university's police department sent out an emergency text and Twitter alert which read "Gables Campus. Richter Library being evacuated due to a bomb threat. Evacuate the building and avoid area. Wait for updates."

The Coral Gable police department was contacted and they brought in a bomb sniffing K9.

Coral Gables investigators said the threat came in the form of a note found in a bathroom.

Officers searched the library and surrounding area.  The all clear was given just after noon and the students were allowed to return.
