MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Florida State’s crushing victory over Clemson (51-14) in Death Valley has landed them in the No. 3 spot in AP’s Top 25 poll.

Alabama came in No. 1 followed by Oregon at No. 2.

Rounding out the Top 5 were Ohio State and Missouri which defeated Florida, 36-17.

The University of Miami’s 27-23 win over North Carolina, along with the losses of Clemson, LSU, Texas A&M and Louisville, allowed them to jump three spots to the No. 7 spot.

Miami’s ranking in the AP Top 25 is its highest since November 13, 2005 when the Hurricanes held the No. 3 ranking for two weeks before a 14-10 loss to Georgia Tech knocked them back to No. 10, according to the Sun-Sentinel.
